Prof. C. Montecucco has delivered lectures in over 140 International Congresses or Schools. He acts as Referee for several International Grant Agencies and Scientific Journals and is currently member of the Editorial Boards of Cellular Microbiology, International Journal of Medical Microbiology, Toxicon, Research in Microbiology and Molecular Aspects of Medicine. He has been member or coordinator of several European Networks and currently is member of the European Community FP6 Network on “Anthrax” and on a Network on “Bacterial Pathogenomics”.
1992-2000: Director of the Course of Doctorate of the University of Padua in "Molecular and Cellular Biology and Pathology".
1993: Award of the Shipley Institute of Medicine, Harvard Medical School for achievements in Microbial Pathogenesis.
1994: elected member of the European Molecular Biology Organization.
1997: short sabbatical at the EMBL Cell Biology Programme to study the cell vacuolation induced by Helicobacter pylori cytotoxin by videomicroscopy.
1994-2002: Director of the National Research Council Center for the Study of Biomembranes at the University of Padua.
1998: Award of the Italian Consortium for Biotechnologies for achievements in the field of bacterial toxins and vaccines.
1999: member of the EMBO Council.
1999: elected corresponding member of the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti.
1999: elected member of the Academia Europeae.
2000: Award of the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Hygiene und Microbiologie.
2001: member of the Scientific Council of the Centre d’Immunologie de Luminy (Marseille).
2002 : member of the Scientific Council of the Institut Pasteur of Paris.
2003: Award of the Fondazione Masi for the Civiltà Veneta.
2004: Feltrinelli Price for Pathology, Immunology and Microbiology of the Accademia dei Lincei.
