Our group, and Dr. Renzo Giordano chief of the Service of Anatomo-Pathology at the Ospedale Civile, Dolo, Venezia, Italy, are the promoters of the first italian Brain Bank, with the aim to collect brain samples from subjects affected by neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's syndrome, Parkinson's disease, Creutzfeldt-Jacob, Down syndrome and others. The aim of this bank is to exchange experience and material useful for a correct diagnosis as well as to encourage scientific projects to better understand the causes of the above mentioned diseases.
